Maori Language Week 8

Haere Mai Whanau and Friends,

This week we are acknowledging the indigenous culture of New Zealand. Rowandale staff have every morning starting the day with some Te Reo Māori to take back and use in our class.

Monday: We learn't greetings to peers and groups.

Tuesday: We learn't head shoulders knees and toes and colours in Māori. Aroha 4 enjoyed this very much and are very good at doing it fast.






Wednesday: We learnt how to say Maths, Writing, Reading Groups and Arts in Māori.

To end the week we had our very own Zjayden, Phoenix, Kyra, Aziza, Sikini and Nicole perform. Awesome effort participating in a great performance alongside other Aroha students. A huge thank you to Aroha 1 and Aroha 5 teachers for taking the lead and doing this for Aroha students. We are grateful!

Tongan Language Week 7

Malo e leli!

Tongan Language Week was awesome and great to have new cultural experiences. We started the week with the opening ceremony and seeing the lovely flag fly high the whole week.












Awesome effort from Tongan Aroha 4 students who dressed up all week. You looked fabulous! 
In class we made Tongan kiekie and it was so exciting to have a new cultural experience.


Our week ended with a lovely Tongan Assembly. Congratulations to all that performed you all looked fantastic on stage.

You are appreciated- Week 6

We celebrated a male figure in our life who has supported us.  A huge thank you to the Fathers, Mothers, Uncles, Brothers and Cousins that attended our fathers day celebration your presence made the day that extra bit special. 




Congratulations to Sione T and Ivana for receiving a certificate. Keep up the good work and listening.

Kyra and Jaelah-Skye both liked the Activ Tablet because they got to use it to make rainbows.

Niah, Shania, Sione T, Hema, Ivana liked playdough because we built shapes. Ivana said "It is better than the other activities"
