Duffy Role Model Assembly

Aroha 4 had so much fun at the Duffy Role Model Assembly today we were so lucky to have Lac Barakuta and Rebecca Magadalinos who serve our country in the Royal New Zealand Airforce. What great examples for Aroha 4. Aroha 4 didn't win the Duffy Box title however they were very happy with what they achieved. Miss Zinck was very impressed with all their efforts to make an awesome Waka. Congratulations to Kiran for receiving the Duffy award at assembly.

Aroha takes on Whole School Assembly. Week 9!

We had our Whole School Assembly today alongside a Powhiri to welcome our new students and staff to Rowandale. Aroha syndicate was running the assembly and we had so much fun. We were able to share with the school what we get up to in our classrooms. Skids also attended our assembly and added a lot of fun and excitement. Thank you skids for our new Rugby Ball.

Week 8

This week in Reading here is Kowhai group exploring the chalk and drawing. All groups had a chance during the week to use the chalk and it was a hit! Aroha 4 love chalk and drawing awesome pictures.

Our shared book this week is Mice in the Kitchen. In the book we loved how it used words like scampering, squeak and scared. Here is Aroha 4 acting out parts of the book. We have some great actors and actresses!

In maths we introduced our exciting new math games Snap, Bingo, Gumball and Counting with Dough. Here are pictures of us all enjoying the new games which are helping us to practice our counting and number recognition  skills.

We had syndicate assembly this week. Our award winners were Kyra and Solomona. Thank you for being great role model students in Aroha 4.

On Wednesday morning we had park and walk. It was awesome to see Sikini walking with her sister. We hope next time more Aroha 4 students can join in on the fun.

Lastly in Week 7 we have been exploring in topic Samoa. We have learnt about the Samoan cultures markets, food and dances. It has been a fun filled week exploring the culture. Here compared the differences between the Samoan Siva and Māori Haka.

On Thursday we were so lucky to go to Totara Park with our school and meet some of our whanau there. What an awesome day it was. We started off with a fun bus ride that was full of energy. Followed by a lovely swim and play in the pool. After eating some morning tea we got to play on the playground and did some fun class games. After a full on day we hopped back on the bus to go back to school. We were all so tired but we had so much fun!!

A HUGE THANK YOU to our parents who came on the trip. We could not have done it without you!!

We have had an awesome week!!

We have had an awesome week!!

During the day we use playdough to help us learn our numbers, alphabet and do fun activities. Here is us using the playdough to show what we learnt in topic.

Playdough- Nikau Trees

During topic we went on an adventure in to explore Rowandale and see if we could find any Flax bushes and Nikau trees. We were very lucky and spotted both!

Aroha 4 really enjoy syndicate assembly. This week Aroha 2 did assembly and it was so exciting seeing some of our friends performing 'individuality' for us. This helps us with topic to know that we are all individuals and we should be proud of that.

Weather has allowed us to play outside during morning tea and lunch time. It is very important that we always play outside with our hats on! SUN SMART :). Don't we look smart in our hats?

We hope you had a good week like us in Aroha 4. We are looking forward to Week 6 where we are going to Totara park with the rest of the school!
